The Dollar Tree is my favorite place to stop for new Craft Supplies. I’m always finding supplies that inspire me to create new crafts. And let’s be honest, at the price you can’t beat it! I love the challenge it brings to take something so simple and make it into a beautiful finished product.

It was the tissue paper that did it for me and gave me the vision to create this adorable Door Hanger!

How to make this

Begin by painting the wood round with the brown chalk paint. Cover the entire piece and do the back as well. Use your heat gun to try

Next, Cover the entire front side with wood glue. Paint it on in the same direction.

Then, while the glue is still wet, paint white chalk paint in all the same direction to cover. Hint, don’t go back over anything as it will mess up the paint.

Use your heat gun to dry the paint, creating a crackle effect all over. The more you apply the more crackle. Such a cool hack, right?! You can sandpaper the edge all the way around for a rustic look.

Apply mod podge to the bottom half of the sign. Then use your heat gun to dry that area.

Cut down your tissue paper to the size needed. Use your butcher paper as the protectant over top the tissue paper. Iron the entire piece of tissue paper down. Careful to not over iron as the tissue paper will bubble and rip. Sand off the edge of the unused tissue paper. Be sure to sand in a downward motion.

Next, cut your eucalyptus into 4 pieces. Two pieces that overlap each other at 6 inches. Glue those pieces down lengthwise Then, two pieces that are 3 inches and glue down. Next , cut the peony just down to the flower head. Hot glue that into the center of the eucalyptus.

Next, using a sewing needle string jute through tand then add the wood beads. Add twenty wood beads and then push the needle through the precut holes at the top. Then you’re going to pull it super tight and tie a few knots over top each other. Then hot glue the knot to keep it in place. Do the same to the opposite side.

Paint your wood hello letter with black chalk paint. On the back side apply a small of wood glue to the letters. Use your finger to spread it out so that you don’t have too much. Flip it over and hold down for a few minutes. Make sure it has adhered before moving.

There you have it a beautiful affordable gift mom will love and cherish forever! Thank you for coming to our page & stay tuned for more!
